Biography
Penelope Sudrow was born and raised in L.A.
A "Westside gypsy", she was raised in Malibu, Bel-Air, Beverly Hills, Brentwood & Santa Monica.
Her father, Lyle Sudrow, was the original star of the "Guiding Light" soap opera, as well as 100's of other radio shows in New York. Her mother, Ebba, born of Swedish Nobility & raised in Stockholm, was a professional dancer who headlined at the Copacabana and was also a June Taylor dancer on the Jackie Gleason Show, also in New York.
Penelope started dancing at age three, and made her stage debut at the Hollywood Bowl at the age of five, headlining as 'Twiggy' in the A.N.T.A. musical review of the '20's.
She did her first commercial, for Oscar Meyer Wiener at age six, followed by another 12 national commercials. At ten Penelope was asked to join the Danny Daniels Dance America Tap company as the only kid member of the group and their featured soloist, she toured with them in their Western United States Tour, 1977, and performed on many TV Variety Shows dancing with such luminaries as Gene Kelly, Danny Kaye, John Denver, Bernadette Peters & Shields & Yarnell.
She continued to work in TV and film until the late '80s.
She enjoyed working in TV and film very much, and is especially appreciative of the fans who to this day, so graciously express their appreciation for her work in films such as "Nightmare On Elm St. III". Their appreciation is the true reward, and to them she sends a great big "Thank you! You have been lights in my life more than you know!"
In addition to Penelope's acting & dancing careers, she has a passion for natural health, nutrition, healing & the environment. She has proudly helped to save 4 trees right here in Southern California in 2000 ! Her mom was an advocate for natural health having been raised in Sweden, & her dad had a passion for the environment, Penelope has followed in all of their footsteps and plans to continue doing that as best as she can.
She is currently working to start a non profit organization that helps to raise awareness about, as well as bring solutions to, the issues of bullying & emotional abuse.
100% of the proceeds of her autographed picture sales go to this cause.
